Real World Program
What is the RWP?
The Real World Program (RWP) is a program that allows eligible Deaf students to explore the real world while still enjoying the safety, security, structure and support unique to California School for the Deaf. A program for 18-22 year olds, the RWP encourages students to focus on their post-secondary education, employment, and independent living skills through off –campus training, activities, and work experience.
Why is RWP Unique?
The WRP emphasizes intensive transition support, job development, and employment experience for each student . The RWP provides direct communication with an experienced team, including:
Department of Rehabilitation Counselor, on-site
Job Coaches
Interpreters
Academic Counselors
Job Placement Specialist
Transition Specialist for post-RWP support
